Lizzy Strand – Physiotherapist

Lizzy studied Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia and qualified in 2011 with an upper second class honours degree. She went on to achieve a further diploma in sports massage in 2011 and started training with The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in London in 2012. Lizzy has since attained her APPI matwork levels one and two.

She achieved a Masters level qualification in Acupuncture in 2015 with The University of Hertfordshire and has done further education in pelvic and shoulder dysfunction as well as paediatrics. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Lizzy has a wide range of work experience including being part of the physiotherapy team for the polocrosse world cup in 2011 treating the UK, USA and Australian national teams. From 2012 to 2014, she worked at Kent and Canterbury Hospital on their Band 5 rotational scheme, working in variety of settings: the community, trauma and orthopaedics, vascular and amputees, intensive care, East Kent neurological rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal outpatients. In 2014, Lizzy chose to specialise in musculoskeletal outpatients and started working as a Band 6 senior Physiotherapist at the William Harvey Hospital and two Ashford GP surgeries.

She has a special interest in Pilates, lower back pain, sports injury management and rehabilitation and pelvic girdle dysfunction. In her spare time, she enjoys sport and the outdoors, and plays lacrosse for Maidstone and polocrosse for Kent.
