Suresh Bandaru – Physiotherapist

Suresh Bandaru (Suri) qualified from the University of Karnataka, India, as a physiotherapist in 2001. He then gained a post graduation diploma in sports physiotherapy and nutrition and has also undertaken masters level modules in neuromusculoskeletal healthcare in 2002/ 2003 from Keele University, UK, before he joined in NHS service in 2004. 

Suri successfully gained a Master’s degree in Orthopaedic Medicine in 2012 from Middlesex University and the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine. He has also assisted with a PhD study which involved the provision of steroid injection therapy for shoulder related conditions. He has been a fully qualified steroid injection therapist since 2011.
He has spent most of his working career in the UK as a physiotherapist and he is director of the Physioplus rehab limited company. He is currently working as an extended scope practitioner (ESP) at Greenwich community MSK services in London and he will soon be providing similar services for east Sussex NHS Trust from October 2017 onwards. 

Suri was appointed as a lead physiotherapist in 2006 for Ashford rugby club in Kent and gained valuable experience in the management of sports injuries and pitch side management. He has also worked in private physiotherapy practice at Dover sports centre and at David Lloyds gym in Maidstone. After moving to East Kent NHS Trust, he focussed his career on musculoskeletal and orthopaedic problems, working in a busy fracture clinic as a senior physiotherapist for over four years and also as a clinical specialist in trauma and orthopaedics in 2008. 

More recently, Suri has worked as a physiotherapy manager on a part-time basis for Spencer private hospital in east Kent in 2012 and also worked for Lewisham Hospital University Trust as a spinal MSK extended scope practitioner (ESP) before joining Hastings and Rother MSK Service in October 2012 as an ESP.

As an experienced physiotherapist in both the NHS and private practice, Suri has joined us at Physiologic to provide expert opinion in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy. He is currently in the process of doing a course in ultrasound scan and guided steroid injections which will allow further added benefit to patients. He strongly believes in educating patients about their problem and enabling them to manage in the long term by achieving functional goals.  
He is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), the Association for Chartered Physiotherapists with an interest in Orthopaedic Medicine and Injection Therapy (ACPOMIT) and is also a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists).
