Chronic Muscle Pain

What our clients say

Experts in chronic muscle pain

Myofascial trigger points are among the most common forms of low back pain. At Physiologic, we are experts in the non-surgical, safe treatment of chronic muscle pain. Our therapists are experienced in ‘dry needling’, a new treatment which, unlike acupuncture, focuses more on the targeted treatment of nerve and muscle pain with proven results.

Experts in dry needling

A trigger point is a taut band of skeletal muscle located within a larger muscle group. Trigger points can be tender to the touch and touching a trigger point may cause pain to other parts of the body. Our therapists place the needles in “trigger points” in your muscle or tissue. The points are areas of knotted or hard muscle and the needle helps release the knot and relieve any muscle pain or spasms. The benefits of this type of treatment can often be felt as soon as the session has finished.

What is dry needling?

Our physiotherapists use thin, solid filiform needs to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular and connective tissue for the management of neuro-musculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.

What are the benefits?

Dry needling can:

  • Provide relief for muscular pain
  • Relieve stiffness
  • Improve blood flow
  • Improve flexibility and increase your range of motion
